APRS

Automatic Position Reporting System

Configuring your Maps

1, Add your maps to the c:\aprsmaps\ folder.

Here I've added 4 jpeg maps. When you capture these jpegs make a note of the grid reference of the North West and South East corners.

The Get-a-map page helpfully shows the National Grid References when you're selecting maps.

2, Open up APRSClient, and select the Map Database tab...

Fill in the fields with the National Grid References for the North West and South East corners. Ignore the latitude and longitude fields.

You should end up with something that vaguely looks like:

The database is tucked away in "maps.XML" in the c:\aprsmaps\ folder.

The map that best fits a callsign's APRS track will be displayed in the "View" tab.

Enter the name of the map as you'd like it to appears on the "Trials" tab. The name is entered in the 8th "Display" column.
