Automatic Position Reporting System
Take a look at the web frontend using Google Maps. You'll find an RSS feed there too.
Here's a prototype application that takes real-time data amateur radio location data.
I'll be putting all the gore here: ARPS Feed access, SQL server, SOAP, .NET Framework, CLR C# source etc.
For now here's the instructions to download the ARPSClient:
![]() 1, You'll need to download the .NET framework. This is the .NET 1.1 Framework Redistributable Package that's available from Microsoft. 2, You may want to start with this map. Create a folder arpsmaps under c:\ and save this map as C:\arpsmaps\map1.jpg 3, Download the client app. Extract it and copy it to your local hard drive. |
Run the app. Enter entire call signs, or use a '%' as a final wild card.
You can add your own maps. (Ordnance Survey National Grid only or Lat Long.) Instructions are here.
